About the event
SPARK YOUR CREATIVITY
Come along to this 3 hour workshop with Intuitive Abstract Artist - Kate Biggs and learn how to create your own beautiful abstract artwork that is full of your own unique energy and essence.
In this workshop Kate will share with you her skills and advice on how to get started with a blank canvas, how to manage the messy middle and finally how to bring everything together to finalise your painting.
As Henri Matisse once said - "Creativity takes courage" and in this workshop you will learn how to overcome the fear of a blank canvas, how to quieten your inner critic and how to create from a space of connection with your intuition and your inner child/inner artist.
This is not a step by step class where we all paint the same thing, each person will create something different, expressing their own unique voice on the canvas.
A few areas that we will cover in this workshop are:
- mindfulness and how it can play a crucial role in your creative practice - beginning with a grounding exercise to drop into our bodies and out of our heads.
- mark making - finding your own unique marks/scribbles that you like to make and how you can incorporate them into your painting.
- Basic painting techniques using various painting tools - as well as some non traditional tools.
- How to navigate through each stage of a painting - with as little frustration as possible!
- Plus lots more!
This is a fun & informal workshop, a safe space to connect with your inner child/inner artist, allowing you to get out of your head and create something from the heart.
Kate will simply be your guide - helping you along the way, the rest is up to you!
Absolutely NO experience is required - this workshop is for everyone.
All that is needed is an open heart and an open mind to try something new.
All materials and aprons provided.
Participants will take home their own unique creation (approx 30cm x 40cm canvas)
Tea & coffe and light snacks provided - please bring along some lunch if you like.
